Physicochemical Properties: Transparent white cubic system crystal, density 3.24g/ cm3, Melting Point 592° C, decompose when temperature reaches 590° C. It is soluble in water and concentrated sulfuric acid, but not in alcohols, acetone and concentrated nitric acid. Its aqueous solution shows neutralization property and cannot form hydrate. It is poisonous! 7. Applications and Usages: It is mainly used to produce various barium salts and glass colorants in glass industry. It is also used to manufacture explosives in the national defense industry and used as low temperature salt bath for heat treatment in metallurgical industry.
